Hello and welcome to Oak Class.
Autumn Term in Oak class.
This half term we will be learning our identities. What makes us unique. We have been looking at a fantastic poem called 'Skin Again' by Bell Hooks and attempting to create our own.
Near the end of this first half term we will be learning about people of colour who have made history. Why don't you begin thinking about who you want to research. It could be a scientist, a musician, dancer or a sports person!
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Please encourage your child to take part in an after school activity. There are lots of activities on offer and they benefit your child in lots of ways.
We encourage children to use Purple Mash and Times Tables Rockstars. These websites are used actively in school and are a brilliant learning resource.
Please bring your PE kit into school on Monday and leave it in school all week.
If parents want to wash them, take them home on a Friday and bring them back on Monday.
Children will need school PE kit which consists of plain black shorts and a yellow t-shirt for indoor PE, plain black or blue tracksuit trousers, t-shirt, a plain black or blue jumper, and trainers for outdoor games.
NO jewellery can be worn for PE.
PE is on Tuesdays and Fridays!
Please can you ensure homework is completed and handed in on time. If you have any problems completing your homework then get in touch.
Homework Club will begin on 26th September 2019. It will take place in Oak class every Thursday 3:15 – 4:15. All are welcome!
WE EXPECT A HIGH STANDARD OF BEHAVIOUR AT ALL TIMES. THE SCHOOL EXPECTATIONS, CONSEQUENCES AND REWARDS WILL BE DISCUSSED WITH ALL THE CHILDREN AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH TERM. NOT FOLLOWING THE EXPECTATIONS AFFECTS THE EDUCATION OF ALL CHILDREN IN THE CLASS AND WILL BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.
